    Seasoned Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor has appealed to Nigerians to provide financial support to undergo kidney transplant in India.

    The renowned actor was seen lying on a bed and pleading for assistance in a video that went viral on social media.

    Kingsley Orji, his Nollywood colleague seated beside him, made a plea on his behalf.

    Amaechi Muonagor left the hospital a few days ago because of financial difficulties, according to Orji.

    He stated that the illness had affected his speech and urged fans and well-wishers to support him for a transplant surgery.

    “It is been challenging. He has been in this state for several months now. He wants to go for a kidney transplant. What we want is for you to help us for him to travel to India,” Orji said.

    “He just came back from the ICU in Nnewi teaching hospital a couple of days ago. He was responding to treatment but not very well.

    “We decided to bring him home because there was no money but it is not advisable. He barely talks well. Please, he needs your help.”

    In 2023, Amaechi Muonagor was diagnosed with paralysis that had affected half of his first leg.

    His words: “I’m sick, this thing that is called stroke caught up with me, and from there they rushed me to the hospital. The first hospital they rushed me to was in Nnewi, where I spent some two months and I was referred to Teaching Hospital Nnewi and here I am.

    “I was on a movie set with Emeka Ani, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie, and Ebele Okaro. I was about to enter my car when I was struck with this problem and since then it has been getting worse. Right now, I can’t move, I can’t walk on my own. Half of my left leg is paralyzed, my left hand is not movable, so it is a problem for me.

    “I’m calling on well spirited individuals to come to my assistance, to see how they can help me. It is paralysis, half of my body.”

    Actress Martha Ankomah of Ghana has stated that legal proceedings concerning her lawsuit against colleague Kwadwo Nkansah, also referred to as Lilwin, are still pending.

    The actress has stated that she does not intend to rescind the lawsuit because she wants the legal system to work its course.

    “I have not withdrawn the suit, I believe the rule of law works in this country.

    Thus, I do not think you can offend someone and get away with it. We must set a good example for others to follow if we claim to be role models. I therefore filed a lawsuit. I hope you understand that building a brand takes years, as she said in an interview with UTV, based in Accra.

    Miss Ankomah sued Lilwin on February 14, 2024, alleging that he had made derogatory comments about her professionalism and integrity.

    The actress sued in an Accra High Court, requesting an apology, GH¢5 million in damages, and the removal of the extremely offensive words in question.

    Martha has expressed hope that the court will take the appropriate action in this case in the interim.

    “If the court does not teach him a lesson, it will be a very bad example that may encourage the next generation to just say anything about people,” the actress went on.

    He praised the inherent goodness and unity among Ghanaians and stated his wish to see such happiness spread throughout the world.

    “If somebody falls right now in Ghana, everybody would go and check up on the person. And I feel like there’s positive energy radiating in Ghana. I think I would love to see that around the world because it’s a universal feeling. And I hope that everyone in the world can connect to that feeling,” he said.

    Tuesday, March 19, 2024, saw the emergency landing of a Ghanaian Armed Forces helicopter at Bonsukrom in Agona Nkwanta, in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.

    The cause of the forced landing is still unknown.

    According to a resident who spoke to JoyNews, the helicopter hovered over the area for some time in an attempt to find a suitable site for an emergency landing, but lost its balance and crashed into nearby trees.

    The aircraft was situated approximately 20 metres away from the Bonsukrom road.

    The helicopter stuck among the shrubs can be seen from the side in amateur video.

    According to a statement from the military, the helicopter carried 21 passengers, including aircrew and employees of the Ghana National Gas Company.

    They were said to be “Conducting routine offshore powerline inspection of the Atuabo Gas plant when the incident occurred.”

    Although some of them had minor injuries, no deaths had been reported, according to another eyewitness who spoke with Myjoyonline.

    He said “We were on our way back from Dixcove when we heard a loud ‘boom’ sound.”

    According to reports, this incident drew a sizable crowd to the location as many town residents trooped over.

    However, as the passengers were being transported to the hospital for medical attention, security officers made an effort to keep the throng at bay.

    For emergency care, one of the injured is being taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

    The GAF also stated that “preliminary assessments have commenced to ascertain the cause of the incident” in the statement released by Brig. Gen. Aggrey-Quashie, Director of Public Relations.
