Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy Clash at University of Ghana, Legon (Video)

Two of Ghana’s biggest music stars, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, had a dramatic encounter at the University of Ghana, Legon. The incident occurred during a highly anticipated campus event that drew significant attention from students and spectators.

Reports indicate that a rift emerged when the two artists—known for their long-standing rivalry—were scheduled to perform at different venues for their respective events: Liman Hall Artiste Night and Shatta’s TF Reunion Rave 24.

Allegedly, Shatta Wale was not allowed to perform at his scheduled event due to concerns raised by a team from the Bhim Nation camp. Witnesses claim the altercation began during a sound check conducted by the SM camp team and organizers.

A directive from Legon management reportedly confirmed that Shatta Wale was unable to perform for undisclosed reasons.

Upon receiving the order, Wale took to social media to voice his disapproval of the decision and blamed Stonebwoy for it.

According to the “On God” hitmaker, Stonebwoy is responsible for that decision and perceives it as a negative step towards sabotaging the industry.

Mahama Promises TV Channel for Creative Arts Sector

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former president, has promised to establish a television network dedicated to the creative arts sector if he wins the 2024 election.

On June 7, 2024, at the AH Hotel in Accra, Mahama made this announcement during a policy discussion with creative arts stakeholders.

Mahama stated that the exclusive TV channel will be accessible via Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), but viewers will need to pay to access it.

“On the digital terrestrial television, we will acquire a special channel for the creative arts. It will be an events channel. And you can display all your work there. If you have a big show like Stonebwoy or Amandzeba performing, or a large group of performers, we will have the technology to make that show payable.

“So even though it will be on the DTT, you would have to pay electronically and then you will be given a code to watch,” he explained.

Mahama emphasized the lack of opportunities in Ghana for young creative talent to showcase their abilities.

“The creative arts sector is incredibly important and has the potential to generate millions of jobs. Many young people are brimming with talent but lack the opportunities to showcase it. By solidifying the foundation of the creative industry, we can create numerous opportunities for our youth,” he remarked.

He also unveiled additional plans to propel the creative industry forward should the NDC be granted the chance to govern the nation once more.

TGMA on Par with Grammys and BET – Stonebwoy

Award-winning reggae/dancehall artist Livingstone Etse Satekla, known as Stonebwoy, recently praised the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), asserting that the event is on the same level as prestigious international awards like the Grammys and BET.

Stonebwoy, who recently received the TGMA Artiste of the Year award, highlighted the importance of recognizing local achievements.

In an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3, Stonebwoy shared his views on the TGMA’s role in supporting Ghanaian artists.

“I am truly appreciative. No one could even notice that night. I had to take my medication during the event. The truth is, I hold a great deal of respect for the Ghana Music Awards, and it is evident in the effort I put into it because that is the Ghana Music Awards,” he said.

The “Therapy” hitmaker added that while he aspires to win international awards like the Grammys and BET, local award shows also deserve appreciation and support. He noted that just as the TGMA is crucial in Ghana, these global awards are significant in their respective countries.

“As much as we strive to transcend our national boundaries and reach the Grammys or the Latin Awards or the BETs, we must recognize that those awards are local to Americans. Therefore, it is crucial to cultivate our own local awards. Without the Ghana Music Awards, what would we have? I wouldn’t want to be left out. Even on days when I wasn’t performing, like last year, I attended and presented an award. I truly value it,” he expressed.

During an interview with Hitz FM on June 6, 2024, the hitmaker known as “Slay Queen” clarified that her decision was calculated to make her feel comfortable rather than purposeful.

Sista Afia claimed that due to her body type and the size of her breasts, she perspires a lot, particularly in the area surrounding her breasts.

She always wears loose clothing because, according to her, this situation requires more airflow.

She clarified that she opted to wear cool, comfy clothing, especially in a warm place like Ghana.

“I need fresh air. I don’t have baby boobs, I have grown-up boobs so it’s not intentional. I sweat a lot in that area. So I need fresh air to circulate through there,” she said.

“I’m keeping it” – Fella Makafui addresses tattoo of Medikal’s name on her body

In the midst of the turmoil that shook her marital home, Fella Makafui is opting to maintain her composure, despite their contentious separation.

The Ghanaian actress revealed that even though Medikal is no longer in her life, she has no plans to have the tattoo of her estranged husband’s name removed.

In an interview in Kumasi, where she will be having her “Resonance” movie premiere this weekend, she disclosed this information.

The divorce between Fella Makafui and Medikal gets more intense as she leaves their house.
She revealed that she had a “Samuel,” which is also Medikal’s name, while discussing her tattoos. She responded, “It is going to be there forever,” to the host’s question about whether she would take it down. I would have removed it a long time ago. I have so much respect for Medikal.”

She said, “We have had good, amazing moments,” in the video below. We’ve brought up a good product, Island (the name of their daughter). Why should I take it off?”

On the other hand, Medikal has covered up the tattoo of Fella Makafui on his body. The 30-year-old Ghanaian rapper announced his breakup with the actress shortly before this change happened.

Fella Makafui and Medikal, who have a child together, disclosed that they are currently divorced and only co-parent.

In a discussion on 3 Music TV, Medikal gave an explanation for his choice to hide the Fella tattoo on his arm: he did not want potential partners to see it when they were having private moments together.

“This is a bit personal; I don’t want my next girlfriend or wife to see my baby mama’s name while we’re being intimate,” he remarked.

The former couple has matching tattoos of a half-face lion that forms a full lion face when their hands are joined, in addition to Medikal’s tattoo of Fella’s name. Whether one of them decides to cover these tattoos is still up in the air.
