A shocking and heartbreaking incident has been reported in Sefwi, located in Ghana’s Western North Region, where a 17-year-old Junior High School (JHS) student, identified as Emanuel, is alleged to have taken the life of his 52-year-old mother under disturbing circumstances.
According to reports, the tragic event was triggered by a disagreement over a missing phone memory card. What began as a domestic misunderstanding is said to have escalated into a violent confrontation, ultimately leading to the fatal shooting of the victim.
Sources indicate that after the incident, the teenager allegedly attempted to conceal the crime by dragging his mother’s body with the intention of burying it. However, he reportedly failed due to the weight of the body. In a further attempt to destroy evidence, he is said to have returned with fuel and set the body ablaze.
The suspect was later apprehended, bringing a temporary end to a case that has left the local community in shock and disbelief.
Authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation into the incident to establish the facts and ensure justice is served. Meanwhile, the tragic development has sparked widespread conversations about youth behavior, anger management, and the need for stronger family and community support systems.
