Music in Ghana is now tainted with corruption – Reggie Rockstone

Legendary Ghanaian rapper Reggie Rockstone has disclosed that there is pervasive corruption in the country’s music business, with some musicians purportedly purchasing internet streams to increase their notoriety.

Reggie Rockstone recently voiced concern on Property FM regarding Ghanaian musicians’ lack of real streaming numbers and their reliance on buying online streams to increase their notoriety.

“We need to talk about the corruption that has crept into music these days; the enormous amount of streams some musicians receive are occasionally not real because they have streaming farms,” he stated.

The hiplife icon revealed how the developers and innovators of well-known digital streaming services, like Spotify, are making enormous profits at the expense of the musicians themselves. He also added that the money made by those platforms’ users, especially those from other countries, goes towards supporting the people who created the platforms.

He continued, “We have a lot of things that we have to look at because the white people are really enjoying our money out of the digital streaming platforms they have created like Spotify and the rest, they are really spending our money, and they always find a new way to rip.”

“I proposed to Gyakie in my dream, and she accepted.” A week later, we were married; a year later, we had twins and travelled the world together. This is a sign, in my opinion. He went on, “Please tag her,” leaving fans to speculate as to whether this was wishful thinking or a cunning prod towards reality.

Gyakie, whose real name is Jackline Acheampong, released her debut single in 2019 called “Love Is Pretty.” She has previously said that she is single and does not have any particular qualities in a partner; instead, she is more interested in a person’s overall vibe.

  • Chris Hughton fired after Black Stars crash out of AFCON 2023

Chris Hughton fired after Black Stars crash out of AFCON 2023

Following the Black Stars’ disastrous exit from AFCON 2023, Chris Hughton was fired.

The head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton, has been relieved of his duties, according to an announcement made by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The choice was made after the Black Stars lost all three of their group matchups and were eliminated from AFCON 2023.

Dissolution of the technical team was also mentioned in the GFA statement, which was released four hours after Ghana’s early elimination from the Ivory Coast tournament was confirmed.

According to the FA, “a roadmap on the future of the Black Stars” will be provided in the upcoming days.

After Otto Addo’s contract with the men’s senior national team expired following the 2022 World Cup, Hughton was appointed in February 2023.

He was assigned to manage the start of the Stars’ 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign as well as the remaining Ghanaian qualifiers for AFCON 2023, as well as travelling with the team to the competition in Ivory Coast.

Hughton was named the Black Stars’ Technical Advisor prior to taking over as head coach. He held this position for the Qatar tournament and before the team’s two-leg playoff match against Nigeria for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

As Black Stars head coach, Hughton oversaw 13 games, going 4–5 in wins, 5–5 in draws, and 4–4 in losses.

Hughton’s team recorded three victories, two defeats, and four draws in nine competitive games.

In addition to the results, the Black Stars’ performances under the former manager of Brighton, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest have drawn criticism, leading to the team’s dismal performance at AFCON 2023.

Fans and commentators have frequently questioned his decisions and handling of the games.

Ghana was eliminated from the AFCON for the second consecutive year at the group stage after drawing with Egypt and Mozambique and losing to Cape Verde in the opening match.

Hughton acknowledged that he was to blame for the Ivory Coast’s subpar performances.

He told the media following Monday’s 2-2 draw with Mozambique, “I take responsibility for this performance and admit my results with the Black Stars have not been good enough.”

With two international friendlies against world champions Argentina and China scheduled for March, the Black Stars will now need to regroup following their most recent setback.

They will then return their focus to the World Cup qualifiers, where they will play matches against Central African Republic and Mali in June.

Liberian newly elected president, Joseph Boakai nearly fainted during his inauguration (Video)

The 79-year-old newly elected president of Liberia passes out during his speech and is quickly removed from the podium.

The newly elected 79-year-old president of Liberia, Joseph Boakai, encountered health issues and was unable to finish his speech during the unfortunate presidential inauguration ceremony in the country’s capital, Monrovian.Β

Joseph Boakai, the recently elected president of Liberia, 79, is carried off the podium after becoming ill during his speech.
The event has reignited conversations regarding the age range of African leaders and the necessity of a generational change in leadership.

President Boakai encountered difficulties and was clearly finding it difficult to remain composed as he started his inauguration speech. Concerns have been raised regarding his health and capacity to fulfil the demanding duties of the presidency after a brief video of the ceremony went viral online and showed him being helped off the podium.

Boakai’s aides were seen fanning the president during the incident with the papers that the would-be speech was printed on, and other aides were seen telling people who were filming the event to stop.

Discussions concerning African leaders’ ages and their seeming resolve to hold onto power into old age have been rekindled by this incident. Opponents contend that this pattern could impede development and prevent the emergence of a younger generation ready to offer novel insights and creative solutions to the problems facing the continent.

The younger generation is becoming more vocal in their call for change as a result of their disappointment with what they see as the shortcomings of the older generation. Many people see the ageing leadership as a barrier to advancement because they feel that they have not sufficiently addressed the urgent problems that the continent is currently facing.

Young leaders who aspire to prominent positions in the government encounter opposition from the older generation, which frequently thwarts efforts at a seamless transition. An environment that facilitates a smooth transfer of power and raises important questions about the age of African leaders are further underscored by the incident that occurred during Boakai’s inauguration.

It is unclear whether this incident will spur a change in public opinion and motivate practical steps to support an inclusive political environment in Liberia and beyond, given the increasing momentum around discussions about leadership and governance.

  • Understanding Shatta Wale will make managing him easier – Sammy Flex

Understanding Shatta Wale will make managing him easier – Sammy Flex

Managing Shatta Wale, one of Ghana’s most captivating and controversial musicians, is not as difficult as it may seem if one truly understands him, according to multiple award-winning Ghanaian broadcaster and manager Samuel Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex.

The popular Ghanaian Dancehall artist’s manager, Flex, refuted claims that managing the “Melissa” hitmaker is challenging in an interview with Graphic Showbiz.

Some believe it would be challenging to manage Shatta Wale because of the way he handled conflicts with his previous managers, Bulldog and Mr. Logic. Sammy Flex, however, dispelled these notions, stating that when the crooner is understood, he is not difficult to work with.

If you understand Shatta Wale, managing him is not that hard. It is up to the person managing him; all you need to do is comprehend him and give him the benefit of the doubt. If there is mutual respect, you can work with him for a very long time. His private life is not my business.

It is impossible to dictate to someone like Shatta Wale what actions to take or refrain from taking. He knows what strategies work for him and how to play the game. All I have to do is encourage him to pursue his dreams and offer advice on anything he wants to do. We get along well; I have known him for a long time, even before I started working with him,” he remarked.

The prolific broadcaster responded, “I just hope and pray that it does not come to that,” when asked how he would feel if the singer ever treated him like Bullgod and Mr. Logic, his two former managers. I am the calm kind that can deal with a person like Shatta Wale. Nothing like that happened when he was managed by Chris Koney, Nana Dope, Willy Wale, or Kofi Boat.

“I think they had problems, but none of what has been happening has happened because of the respect they had for one another. He continued, “I think there will always be fireworks because Shatta Wale is an extrovert, and his former managers Bullgod and Mr. Logic are also extroverts.
