Rapper Medikal, whose real name is Samuel Adu Frimpong from Ghana, has counselled young people not to base their marriage choices only on feelings of love.
He talked about his personal experience, reflecting on how, despite his best efforts to keep it together, his marriage to actress Fella Makafui ended.
Now that they are co-parenting, the couple’s main priority is making sure their daughter is happy.
Marriage is a complicated commitment that calls for more than just love, as Medikal stressed in an interview with Starr FM.
He stated, “Before you get married, I donโt think love is enough. Love is not enough for two people to get into marriage. Marriage is a whole different ball game. If you love somebody, it doesnโt mean you should get married to them.”
He cautioned against relying solely on love and suggested that couples seek family support and counselling before making such a big decision.
Medikal draws from his own experience to provide personal insights that emphasise the significance of marriage preparation and a thorough knowledge that goes beyond romantic sentiments.
A stir was created on social media when Ghanaian rapper Medikal revealed a number of startling details about his ex-wife, actress and businesswoman Fella Makafui.
The rapper publicly announced that he had split from his wife, which put Medikal and Fella’s marriage in the spotlight for a while.
Following an incident where he claimed her baby mama called the police on him for asking her cousin to leave his house, Medikal had a recent outburst.
The application to stop the organisers of the “#DumsorMustStop” demonstration from carrying out their scheduled protest has been retracted by the Ghana Police Service’s Greater Accra Regional Command.
The decision to withdraw came after the organisers decided to change the original protest route. The application was withdrawn on May 20 in response to police advice that the protest organisers consider moving the site.
Justice Lydia Osei Marfo announced during the Friday, May 24, 2024, court session that the applicants, the Ghana Police Service, had withdrawn their application in writing. As a result, the application was dismissed as withdrawn by Justice Marfo.
The protest was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2024, but the police had previously asked that the organisers change the date. The police filed a motion requesting a court order to completely stop the event after the organisers rejected this request.
Due to Revolution Square’s close proximity to Jubilee House, a designated security zone, and the planned protest’s late timing, a motion to prohibit it was filed on May 20, 2024.
The actress Yvonne Nelson has been outspoken about the negative impact that the local term for sporadic blackouts, or “dumsor,” is having on her business. In 2015, she spearheaded a protest of a similar nature. She had informed the Ghana Police Service of the planned protest along with her team.
The police, however, were against the planned protest route because of security concerns about its proximity to Jubilee House and the protest’s intended midnight end time. They were particularly against the protest’s endpoint at Revolution Square.
Precious Fella Makafui, an actress and businesswoman, has allegedly been arrested, according to an iSpyGh statement.
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, the arrest was carried out in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council Ghana and the investigative documentary filmmaking company ISPYGH 247. Akwasi Koranteng and his group of undercover reporters from ISPYGH 247 conducted a six-month surveillance operation to track Makafui’s social media activity on TikTok and Instagram in order to compile proof of her purportedly unlawful actions.

The authorization to apply for a bar call for 2024 has been given to the popular Ghanaian social media personality and YouTuber Elorm Ama Governor-Ababio, commonly referred to as Ama Governor online.
The announcement is a significant turning point for Ababio, who has had a difficult two years due to the Ghana Legal Council’s decision to call her to the bar.
However, based on a list made public by the Director of the Ghana School of Law, Ama Governor is one of the 181 candidates who have been qualified for this prestigious legal ceremony, according to thelawplatform.online.
The General Legal Council has the authority to amend the list if it finds any inconsistencies.
Ama Governor’s application to the bar was turned down in November 2022 as a result of a complaint made by a “concerned citizen.”
Ama Governor was accused of acting in a way that was “unbecoming of an applicant to be called to bar” in the complaint.
The Legal Council decided to halt her call to the bar as a result of the complaint.
The decision sparked heated discussions about the behaviour of Ghanaian law students as well as large-scale reactions on and off social media.
Ama Governor stated that she was subjected to unfair treatment and denied the accusations of misconduct made against her.
Ama Governor’s second denial of a call to the bar in 2023 sparked reactions.
Her admission to the bar was approved in November 2023.
