On Tuesday, April 30, a Military officer killed in land dispute at Millennium City near Kasoa incident occurred at Millennium City in Gomoa Nyanyano, near Kasoa in the Central region. A land dispute claimed the life of a military man, and two others barely avoided harm.

According to reports, the deceased and his friends confronted labourers on a plot of land they claimed was theirs. This is how the altercation started.

They tried to resolve the matter at the Millennium City Police station, but tensions continued to rise, sources told Graphic Online.

Previous attempts to ask for police assistance were said to have failed to produce a resolution.

The residents of the disputed land were allegedly told by the soldiers to stop what they were doing and come to the police station to seek mediation.

But the soldiers’ disagreement remained, so they went back to the police station to investigate their complaint.

It was allegedly communicated to them that the Central East Regional Police Command had taken over their case.

As they were en route to the regional command, they were reportedly engaged in additional fighting, resulting in the tragic death of a soldier.

Further information will be provided later.

Three innocent lives have tragically been lost in a series of horrible crimes that have shaken the peaceful community of Kroboland in Ghana’s Eastern Region. This is a startling development. Richard Tetteh, 35, has confessed to the Ghana Police that he was responsible for these senseless murders, exposing a dark plot that has horrified and depressed the neighbourhood.

The terrible incidents took place in Sekesua in April 2024, Oterkpolu in February 2024, and Nuaso Odjam in April 2024. Tetteh’s motivations remain a mystery, but it is purported that he took a pitiful GHC500.00 for each life he brutally took, allegedly at the request of a chop shop owner from AgΙ”maanΙ”, Lower Manya.

The revelation of Tetteh’s methods has given the tragedy a terrifying new depth. He admitted taking fluid and saliva from the victims with a handkerchief, which he then deviously gave to an unsuspecting food vendor.

People in Kroboland are experiencing a mixture of shock and agony as a result of the news, finding it difficult to comprehend the unbelievable events taking place in their town. Tetteh’s lack of regret has only made the wounds inflicted on the bereaved community more severe.

In the community, there are many expressions of grief and anxiety. One resident bemoaned, “I am upset and sad. He does not even look remorseful.”

Amidst the mourning, there is a resounding cry for increased consciousness and solidarity, particularly from women who are expected to prioritise their own safety. “You cannot commit a crime on Kroboland and go unpunished. One resident said, “We will help the police find you and arrest you,” demonstrating the community’s resolve to combat the evil of violence that has tarnished their cherished country.

  • Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel wins appeal over murder conviction

Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel wins appeal over murder conviction

Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel’s conviction for the murder of an associate more than a decade ago was quashed on Thursday, with a London court ruling that attempts to bribe the trial jury meant the conviction was unsafe.

The musician, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is one of Jamaica’s most popular artists and has collaborated with performers such as Jay-Z and Rihanna.

Kartel, 48, has been in jail in Jamaica since 2011 over the disappearance of his associate Clive “Lizard” Williams, whose body has never been found.

After a 64-day trial in Kingston, one of the longest in Jamaican history, Kartel and three others were convicted in 2014. Kartel was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 35 years, later reduced on appeal to 32-and-a-half.

Last month, Kartel and his co-defendants mounted their final possible appeal at the Privy Council in London, the final court of appeal in Jamaica and some other Commonwealth countries.

Their lawyers argued the trial judge wrongly handled allegations that one juror offered 500,000 Jamaican dollars (around $3,200) to fellow jurors to return not guilty verdicts.

The defendants’ appeals were allowed on Thursday, with Judge David Lloyd-Jones saying the trial judge’s decision to allow the juror alleged to have offered bribes to continue on the jury was “fatal to the safety of the convictions”.

The Privy Council sent the case back to the Court of Appeal in Jamaica to decide whether Kartel and his co-defendants should stand trial again.
