I want to change the Kasoa narrative – DSL | Watch Video

Rising Ghanaian reggae/dancehall performer Lawrence Senyo Adiase, better known by his stage name DSL, is working to change the unfavourable image of Kasoa, a popular town in the central region.

Although Kasoa is frequently associated with infamous crimes, murder, weird happenings, and chaos, the young crooner is determined to show off its positive and artistic qualities.

The “No Gree” hitmaker, who was raised in Kasoa, voiced concern about the negative impression that many Ghanaians have of the town in an exclusive interview with Kojo Manuel for the Mile 7 podcast. According to DSL, hearing disparaging remarks about his hometown all the time breaks his heart.
He claims that mysterious things are happening in the town, particularly the recent problem of men’s privates disappearing at random, to the point where some of his female friends have even told him not to go there.

Asked if he believes those stories of male private parts getting missing randomly, the 2023 VGMA Unsung Artiste of the year said; “Yes I believe them. you see we the Gen Z children we haven’t seen or witness spiritual stuffs, so we make mockery of everything. As for me because of the things I have seen while growing up…I somehow believe.”

‘Talent isn’t enough’ – Richie Mensah explains why some talented artistes fail

Ghanaian music producer Richie Mensah discussed why he believes skill is not enough to succeed in the music business.

He asserts that although talent is important, success requires other factors as well.

Mensah has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including MzVee, KiDi, and Kuami Eugene. He has identified four essential components that he feels are necessary for success.

He talked about marketability, discipline, common sense, and industry expertise. He emphasised that these elements frequently matter more than just talent.

Richie clarified in a Instagram video that a lot of gifted artists fall short because they do not have these fundamental abilities.

He stated that an estimated 80% of gifted artists fall short of their goals for success, frequently as a result of a lack of knowledge about the business aspects of the field.

According to him, music should be treated like any other business. Netizens’ perspectives on the topic differed in the comments section of the Lynx Entertainment CEO’s video.
