South African Afro-pop icon Zahara dies at age 36

Multiple award winning South African Afro-pop singer and songwriter Bulelwa Zahara known by stage name Zahara is reportedly dead.

According to reports, he “Loliwe” hitmaker died on Monday 11 December, 2023 after battling with liver complications for some time.

She was signed under the record label “TS Records”, Mkutukana’s debut album winning double platinum. She died at age 36.

She started singing at an early age in the streets of East Legon.

She taught herself to play the guitar, one musical instrument. With various unique styles, Zahara released her first album “Lowlie” in 2011 winning her double platinum.
