“Many of my African friends never believed in my dream” – Wode Maya

Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon popularly known as Wode Maya is a Ghanaian YouTube personality, vlogger, digital media influencer and aeronautical engineer. Wode Maya’ currently holds the record for a Ghanaian with the most YouTube subscribers and he had this to say about his journey to becoming a world acclaimed YouTuber.

The young Ghanaian influencer has shared an encouraging account of his experiences becoming public on the internet.

“As a young YouTuber, I had a lot of beliefs and aspirations and one of them was to travel around the world, he highlights on his humble through his social media platforms”.

“I remember back then when I wanted to travel to Tanzania and had no money and means, I had to take a loan from a Chinese friend of mine @photographer_ahwei who inspired and motivated me on my trip”, he added.

“My own African brothers never believed in my dreams and always belittled my efforts. I remember there were times I had less money and had to spend nights in hostels”.

He has been working tirelessly for the past five years, and he is quite proud of his progress. Despite the challenges, his diligence has paid off, as he can now easily travel the world.

“I really want to tell the young ones and youth out there to never stop believing in their dreams no matter how small it may seem. Keep working on them and you shall smile”, he concluded.
