The Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) board chairman, Keli Gadzekpo, has resigned.
Gadzekpo gave his resignation notice on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, citing personal reasons in a letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He expressed his gratitude to the President for giving him the chance to serve the nation “in this significant role” for the previous seven years.
Gadzekpo also wished ECG and the government continued success in their endeavours to supply the nation with reliable electricity.
The successful businessman Gadzekpo was instrumental in founding a number of businesses, chief among them the Databank Group of Companies, which includes Databank Asset Management Services and Databank Epack Investment Fund Ltd.
His contributions have played a crucial role in shaping these ventures, as evidenced by his more than two decades of experience in investment banking.
He currently holds the position of Board Chairman at Enterprise Group, demonstrating his strategic thinking and leadership abilities in the business world.
He also serves as Chairman of the Databank Foundation, the Databank Group’s corporate social responsibility division, demonstrating his dedication to philanthropy and community development.
Gadzekpo’s academic history includes enrollment at Achimota School and graduation from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In the USA, he is also a certified public accountant, or CPA.
In addition, his quest for knowledge made him a Mason Fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he graduated with a master’s in public administration.
