Ghanaian musician Amerado claims that he has not made up his mind to offer his hit song “Kweku Ananse” to a political campaign just yet.

During an interview on AKOMA FM in Kumasi, the musician expressed that he is aware of the potential risks associated with endorsing a political party, but he is not committed to supporting any particular party with his song.

“I have not had any political thoughts about affiliating with any political party yet, but as an artiste under a record label, my label has had no engagements with any political party as far as I am concerned”, Amerado told host Tony Best on March 9.

Rather than chasing after clouts, which he feels rarely work out well for artists, Amerado says he is currently concentrating on his next releases and his career.

Meanwhile, he has expressed his excitement over his ‘Kweku Ananse’ song being used as the official entrance song for President Akufo-Addo at the 67th Independence Anniversary.

On March 6, as President Akufo-Addo entered the anniversary grounds in Koforidua, the sensational hit song “Kwaku Ananse” by Amerado played in the background.

” I’m very grateful to the organisers of the Independence anniversary, this is a massive show of love to me and I’m highly indebted.

“There are a lot of songs making great waves in Ghanaian music but for my song to be played at the apex of the nation’s gathering is huge and I’m humbled. This means I should keep up the good work,” Amerado said.
