On August 10, the inaugural edition of the 2024 Ghana DJ Clinic, themed “Exploring the Business of Entertainment,” took place in Tamale, offering valuable networking and educational opportunities for DJs. The event saw strong participation from DJs and creatives across the northern region, eager to enhance their skills and contribute to Ghana’s creative industry.

Sponsored by Smirnoff, the Ghana DJ Clinic served as a precursor to the 12th annual Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, which supports DJ welfare and promotes cultural development.

Gladys Osei Owiredu, Marketing PR Manager at Multichoice Ghana, spoke on the importance of personal branding and corporate partnerships for DJs. She emphasized that a well-defined brand attracts companies seeking influencers whose values align with theirs.

Aaron Kuwornu, Northern Regional Director of the Ghana Library Authority, encouraged DJs to invest time in reading, highlighting its role in expanding business opportunities for creatives.

Halik Musah, a broadcast journalist and music promoter known for supporting northern music stars like Fancy Gadam, urged northern DJs to strive for boundary-breaking achievements.

The Ghana DJ Clinic not only inspired attendees but also provided a dynamic networking platform, facilitating meaningful interactions with panel members.

The next phase of the Ghana DJ Clinic will be held on September 7 at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, where DJs from across the capital are expected to gain further insights, opportunities, and collaborations.
