    Ebenezer Smith, a Ghanaian chef known by the moniker Chef Smith, has issued an apology over his falsified Guinness World Record (GWR) certificate.

    During a press conference held in Accra on Tuesday, Chef Smith claimed he had set a new GWR for the longest individual cooking marathon, clocking in an impressive 802 hours and 25 minutes.

    However, upon verification, GWR confirmed that the certificate Chef Smith displayed did not come from them. According to GWR, “The current and true record holder is: The longest cooking marathon (individual) is 119 hr 57 min 16 sec and was achieved by Alan Fisher (Ireland) in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023.”

    In a tearful interview with Serwaa Amihere on GHOne TV, Chef Smith apologized to Ghanaians and the international community for the deception and disgrace his actions had caused.

    “I want to apologize deeply on this significant platform. To the world, I am truly sorry. In my desperation to make a living, I made a grave mistake. I don’t deserve to live. I beg for forgiveness from the entire nation,” he pleaded.

    ‘Xornam Save Me Peace Campaign’ Scheduled for June 21 at Anloga

    Ishmael Morrison Tsegah, recognized as a United Nations Best Diplomat Delegate in Ghana, is set to initiate a Peace Campaign tour on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Anloga Roman Catholic School in the Volta region.

    The campaign, named “Xornam Save Me Peace Campaign,” aims to promote peace and security among students and youth in anticipation of the country’s General elections in December.

    The CEO of Shy Family Entertainment and Shy TV Afrika stated that the project intends to educate students on the dangers of insecurity and its impact on the nation’s current peace. “Our purpose is to teach the school pupils my peace song and deliver a speech about peace and security with the participation of our special diplomatic guest of honour,” he said.

    Mr. Tsegah added that the project also seeks to contribute to Africa’s unity agenda, aiming to prevent potential wars, ethnic conflicts, and racism through music and diplomacy. He appealed for support from philanthropists and benevolent organizations to ensure the success of the peace campaign.

    The event, sponsored by Verna Water, Ghana Education Service, National Peace Council, and Kobby JosVan, will feature special guests, including the South American Ambassador Fidelia Graand Galon, Africa Commander for International Police Commission HRH Col. Kelvin Morgan, and the President of the United Nations Youth Association Ghana, W.H Kobina Adomadzi Longdon.
