Africa is too resourceful and wealthy to be impoverished, according to Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in Africa.

He claimed that given its abundance of natural and human resources, the African continent is too rich to be in need.

Speaking on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the opening of the second Africa Prosperity Dialogues at Peduase in the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo stated that Africa has all the resources available to it to transform into a global powerhouse in the future.

We are all aware of Africa’s blessings and the fact that she is too wealthy to be impoverished. a continent rich in minerals, oil, gas, sunlight, and every other natural resource one could ask for. Africa has the youngest population on the planet and about 65% of all arable land is available to feed 9 billion people by 2030, he said. These factors will help Africa become a global powerhouse in the future.

President Akufo-Addo expressed his encouragement, saying, “I am now encouraged that Africa has a private sector that is ready, deliberate, and eager to see that the 60-year-old dream of the United Africa manifests.” The emphasis on economic integration—a topic on which disagreement is impossible—may be the difference between the two periods. Our focus must be on finding ways to enable the unimpeded flow of people, products, and services throughout the vast and resourceful continent of Africa.

The private sector’s readiness for economic cooperation through the African Continental Free Trade Area is the reason for President Akufo-Addo’s optimism about the continent’s ability this time around.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to host the discussion and urged everyone to contribute to the goal of strengthening Africa on a personal and collective level.
