Uprooted Trees: One person in critical condition after rainstorm

During a rainstorm that preceded Monday morning’s intense downpour, a large tree fell onto a motorbike and a car, reportedly injuring one person who was quickly taken to the hospital.
The unfortunate incident happened when the motorcyclist was attempting to avoid colliding with the tree’s descending trunk.
A military man who was also caught up in the mayhem in the Accra neighbourhood of Cantonments, however, managed to escape unharmed.
Tree falls on vehicle The motorbike rider was not so lucky; he suffered injuries to his lower limb that required emergency medical attention at the police hospital in Osu. The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as a military personnel, fortunately escaped unharmed.
Details of the accident were confirmed by Parks and Gardens Director Dr. Kingsford Adams at a press conference.
He emphasised how the downed tree seriously disrupted traffic because it made vehicles hesitant to drive on the impacted route.
Additionally, falling trees damaged about six cars near Kotoka International Airport; the cars parked closest to the Landing Restaurant were particularly severely damaged.
