    Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE joins Concordia Advisory Council

    The esteemed Concordia Advisory Council is pleased to announce the official appointment of Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, the founder and president of GUBA Enterprise, as Advisor.

    Concordia is a global platform that brings together heads of state, government representatives, C-suite executives, and global leaders of foundations, think tanks, and nonprofit organisations.

    The US-based organisation organises regional summits with a focus on the Americas, the US, Europe, and Africa, in addition to the Concordia Annual Summit, which is the biggest and most inclusive nonpartisan forum held in conjunction with the UN General Assembly.

    “It is a great pleasure to invite you to join the Concordia Advisory Council as an Advisor to contribute your insights and guidance to this body,” the invitation letter to Lady Dentaa states in its entirety.

    The letter further stated, “In confirming your role as an Advisor to Concordia, you would join us at a critical and exciting time in our organization’s development. We continue to lead a rigorous effort to incubate and steer partnership around the world in close conjunction with our convening platform”

    Lady Dentaa responded to the invitation by expressing her excitement about taking advantage of Concordia’s opportunities to improve the world.

    “Leveraging opportunities at Concordia to make the world a better place is a privilege,” said Lady Dentaa.

    “This invitation is timely considering the current call by global policymakers to ignite conversations that create opportunities through cross-sector solutions that address the biggest challenges of our time. I am indeed privileged to be joining Concordia at this time.” Lady Dentaa indicated.

    According to her, Grow, Unite and Build Africa (GUBA) will keep having a positive impact on strengthening the bonds that currently exist between Africa and the diaspora.

    Kofi Kinaata, Ama K. Abebrese named UN IOM Goodwill Ambassadors

    Ama K. Abebrese, a British-Ghanaian actress and film producer, has been named a Goodwill Ambassador for the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) of the United Nations.

    Kofi Kinaata is a musician and songwriter who is one of the nine Goodwill Ambassadors revealed thus far.

    These Ambassadors will serve alongside Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah, who was named IOM’s first-ever global ambassador in November.

    The recently appointed Goodwill Ambassadors will dedicate their support and lend their names to promote the opportunities that come with migration and how it helps talent spread around the world.

    The other seven are: Dimash Qudaibergen, Singer and Songwriter, Kazakhstan (with a regional role for Asia), Club Atletico Peñarol, Football Club, Uruguay, Nicolas Marin Benitez, Photographer, Argentina/Aruba, Paul Choy, Photographer, Mauritius, Mouctar Diakhaby, Footballer, Guinea, Dzanan Musa, Basketball Player, Bosnia, Mirela Sula, Psychologist, Journalist and Author, Albania.

    “IOM Director General Amy Pope expressed her excitement to welcome these extraordinary individuals as IOM’s new Regional and National Goodwill Ambassadors.”

    They are globally recognised as trailblazers and inspiration. Now, they will contribute in a different way by working with us to promote responsible migration and enhance the lives of those who are constantly on the move.

    These Ambassadors were chosen after a rigorous review and evaluation procedure, and they were formally nominated by IOM representatives in their respective nations.

    IOM, the premier intergovernmental organisation in the field of migration, was founded in 1951 and is dedicated to the idea that both migrants and society benefit from humane and orderly migration. In 2016, IOM became a related organisation and joined the UN system.
