  • Gospel’s Rising Voice, Asirah Nominated for “Discovery of the Year” at 2025 Praise Achievement Awards

Gospel’s Rising Voice, Asirah Nominated for “Discovery of the Year” at 2025 Praise Achievement Awards

In the ever-evolving world of Ghanaian gospel music, a new light is breaking through—Phoebe Asirah Adjei, known simply as Asirah, is capturing hearts with her soulful sound and spirit-led message. Now, the talented singer-songwriter has been nominated for “Discovery of the Year” at the 2025 Praise Achievement Awards, a prestigious celebration of gospel excellence in Ghana.

A Journey Rooted in Faith, Talent & Purpose

Born in Dormaa in the Bono Region and now based in the Ashanti Region, Asirah’s story is one of passion, purpose, and perseverance. From her earliest days, she found herself drawn to music—participating in church choirs, school music groups, and cultural troupes that nurtured her creative spark.

Her academic journey took her from Berekum All for Christ School to Sunyani Senior High, and eventually to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she pursued a degree in Political Studies and English Language. Even amidst academia, her voice stood out, and her message was clear—music would be her ministry.

Today, she’s not just a gospel artiste—she’s also a graduate of the KNUST Faculty of Law, a mother, and a minister who balances her many roles with divine grace and resilience.

    From Hitmaker to Healing Sound

Asirah first gained national attention through MTN Hitmaker Season 6, a platform that launched notable talents like Mr. Drew and Krymi. Her participation was more than a stepping stone—it was a spiritual push toward a lifelong calling.

Her music is a unique blend of gospel, R&B, Afrobeat, and jazz, crafted to resonate deeply with the youth and the broken-hearted. Through her songs, she shares a message of healing, identity restoration, and godly purpose, especially aimed at young women battling addiction, insecurity, and spiritual stagnation.

“I don’t just want to sing—I want to be a voice that calls people back to God, especially the youth,” says Asirah.

    Discovery of the Year

In the “Discovery of the Year” category, Asirah joins a strong lineup of emerging gospel voices including Psalmist Sam, Aikkuo, Naana Asiedu, Joseph Abeiku Gordon, Sonia Biekro, Miss Walters, Wuddah, Seth Diamond, Joella, Kwesi Kaej, Afia Sika, Matthew Ansah, and Sarah Appiah.

This nomination marks not just recognition from the gospel community—but affirmation of a journey rooted in faithfulness, hard work, and a clear spiritual mission.

“This nomination is a blessing and a reminder that faithfulness in the little things will always be seen and rewarded,” Asirah shares.
