Mankessim: Girl sets ex-boyfriend’s room on fire after breakup

0

A 16-year-old girl set her boyfriend’s room on fire in New Nkusukum, Mankessim, after he broke up with her. Rebecca, the suspect, asked her boyfriend, Stephen Agbobli, for money, but he refused, accusing her of cheating. Stephen then ended the relationship, dragging Rebecca from his corn mill shop when she begged for forgiveness.

Later, Rebecca used a spare key to access Stephen’s room and set it ablaze with kerosene. Stephen was unable to save any belongings, losing items such as a refrigerator and television.

An elderly woman who spoke to Onua News said Rebecca had complained about mistreatment from Stephen after asking for money. The woman also reported that Stephen, through a borrowed phone, warned that Rebecca should be held responsible if anything happened to him.

Rebecca fled after the incident, and the case has been reported to the Mankessim Divisional Police Command.
