Let’s Unite for Peace in Ghana – A Call to Action from the Founder of Watch Your Tongue Foundation

Peace is a valuable asset that requires constant attention and effort. Defined as a state free from disturbance, war, or anxiety, peace represents a condition of security and tranquility. In essence, peace can be seen as the absence of confusion.

To foster this peace, we must actively identify and address the sources of confusion in our society. As we navigate the complexities of our democratic processes, especially during elections, it’s vital to prioritize a peaceful atmosphere in Ghana. The stakes may seem high, but I ask: must Ghana suffer because of elections? The answer lies in our collective commitment.

Promoting peace is a responsibility we all share. Every citizen, organization, and institution must join forces with us at the Watch Your Tongue Foundation to reinforce peace in Ghana. This means embracing unity and respecting diverse perspectives on important issues.

Constructive conversations are essential to building a foundation of peace. We need to emphasize accountability, fairness, justice, and the rule of law to cultivate trust and support our socio-economic development. Despite our differences in religion, ethnicity, and social interests, we are all part of one nation: Ghana.

To enhance the effectiveness of our peace campaign, I have developed a framework to communicate messages of peace clearly.

PEACE Acronym:

  • Psychological Peace
  • Economic Peace
  • Accessibility of Basic Needs
  • Compliance
  • Environmental Peace

GHANA Acronym:

  • Get involved in this Peace Building Agenda
  • Hurt nobody with your utterances, actions, and writings
  • Accept the views of others to promote tolerance and freedom of speech
  • Nothing is more important than peace and stability
  • Adhere to the rule of law to promote fairness, accountability, freedom, and justice

I encourage everyone to adopt the four pillars of the Watch Your Tongue philosophy: Think Right, Speak Right, Act Right, and Write Right. These principles are vital for enhancing peace and security.

In closing, I urge all Ghanaians, as well as those living in our midst, to reject hate speech, unlawful actions, and harmful rhetoric. Together, we can help solidify peace in Ghana and beyond. Remember: “Ghana will not die.” Let us work hand in hand for a brighter, peaceful future.
