Renowned Ghanaian reggae musician Julius Amua-Sekyi, better known by his stage name Shasha Marley, has disclosed that he declined a $50,000 offer to write a song for a political party.
According to Shasha, the offer is contingent on the choice to write a political and campaign song for the unnamed political party. He considers himself to be apolitical, and supporting a political party goes against his morals.
The “Twin City Mafia” hitmaker, speaking exclusively to Abeiku Santa on UTV’s “ATUU” programme, revealed that he was alerted about the noteworthy opportunity by a long-time friend over the phone. This kept him up all night until he met with the friend the next day to finalise the deal. He did, however, choose to turn down the offer after talking to his wife about it.
