Breaking: Aircraft Carrying Malawi Vice President Missing

An aircraft carrying Saulos Chilima, the Vice President of Malawi, and nine others has gone missing, according to an official statement.

The Malawi Defence Force plane disappeared from radar on Monday after departing from Lilongwe, the nation’s capital.

The president’s office issued a statement on Monday, June 10, confirming that aviation officials have been unable to contact the aircraft since it vanished from radar.

“The Office of the President and Cabinet wishes to inform the general public that the Malawi Defence Force aircraft that left Lilongwe today, Monday, June 10, 2024, at 09:17 hours, and carrying nine other individuals, failed to make its scheduled landing at Mzuzu International Airport at 10:02.”

“All efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off radar have failed thus far,” the statement said.
