The Accra High Court has mandated the auction of two mansions owned by former Chelsea and Ghana midfielder Michael Essien. The order, issued by the Deputy Sheriff of the High Court (Commercial Division) on June 12, 2024, follows a recent ruling against Essien.

According to the Daily Guide, the properties in question are situated at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon (House Number 9), and at Trassaco (Phase 2), Adjiringano (House Number 204/205), both located in Accra. One of these properties is estimated to be worth between $20 million and $30 million.

Essien’s financial difficulties stem from substantial loans acquired from various banks and financial institutions in Ghana, as reported by Africa Soccer.

The 41-year-old former midfielder had an illustrious career, playing for renowned clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Lyon.
