On Tuesday, April 30, a Military officer killed in land dispute at Millennium City near Kasoa incident occurred at Millennium City in Gomoa Nyanyano, near Kasoa in the Central region. A land dispute claimed the life of a military man, and two others barely avoided harm.
According to reports, the deceased and his friends confronted labourers on a plot of land they claimed was theirs. This is how the altercation started.
They tried to resolve the matter at the Millennium City Police station, but tensions continued to rise, sources told Graphic Online.
Previous attempts to ask for police assistance were said to have failed to produce a resolution.
The residents of the disputed land were allegedly told by the soldiers to stop what they were doing and come to the police station to seek mediation.
But the soldiers’ disagreement remained, so they went back to the police station to investigate their complaint.
It was allegedly communicated to them that the Central East Regional Police Command had taken over their case.
As they were en route to the regional command, they were reportedly engaged in additional fighting, resulting in the tragic death of a soldier.
Further information will be provided later.
