An era in the musical career of Ghanaian rap icon Medikal has come to an end with his announcement of leaving the esteemed AMG Business record label.
After years of cooperation and success in Ghana’s music industry, the decision was made to split ways with AMG, an acronym for “Arab Money Gang.”
Having been raised by fellow artist Criss Waddle, Medikal (born Samuel Adu Frimpong) gained notoriety under the guidance of AMG Business. Medikal became one of Ghana’s most prominent hip-hop artists during his time with the label, releasing a number of successful singles and albums.
This announcement was made by the “Omoada” hitmaker on X, formerly known as Twitter. He did not, however, give away the reason for his resignation.
“I’m no longer a member of AMG. If you see me wey you talk AMG I go fi slap you,” he said.
The rapper signed with the label in 2010 at the beginning of his career. Since then, AMG has helped him become well-known and produce multiple hits.
